1950 manual transmission

how does the rear yolk come off this year transmission. some type of plug  with notches around perimeter. 1 1/2 in. dia.  my earlier model bolts on.   jeff hines

I think what you have there is a transmission used on a longer wheelbase chassis such as a limousine, hearse or ambulance.  CLC member Bob Schuman has written up the procedure to remove the rear yolk on those transmissions.  I have a copy of what he wrote but not in an electronic format.  If you email me your postal address at jaysfriedman@yahoo.com I'll mail it to you.  You may also want to contact Bob who is in the CLC directory in Illinois.
