Someone in an unrelated forum took this pic on I-95 outside Baltimore on 04.19.18. The pic is large, hopefully it can be viewed full-size/clearly here. The POV of the camera appears to be just behind the white '59's rear wheel, so it's fairly straight on.

What caught my eye is the black '59, something looks off. In the full-size pic, I used a metric ruler on my 21" monitor. The front clip and rear quarters of the black & white car match up dimensionally (with a teeny allowance for perspective.)

However, the black car's wheelbase and the door are about 7% shorter. Either the black car was shortened (or the white car was lengthened). Of course, other than the Series 75, there's only one wheelbase in '59. Plus, these 2 worn Caddys don't bear any signs of recent work, not to mention that a 7% wheelbase chop is a TON of work for what benefit? 7% off of 130" is 121"- was it re-chassis-ed?

Theories / knowledge of these cars?

Yes the black one looks a bit shorter, and the roof outline also appears a bit shorter and modified as well. 'Tis a mystery...

The top aft car does appear to be a Plymouth - Savoy maybe?  ???

top Caddy looks like a series 75 with long wheelbase, and the bottom one loos like a convertible.  Unlikely that wheelbase was altered 7%.

Could it be because it is a 60 plymouth?

RE the "Series 75" idea : never saw a Series 75 2-dr.   ;)

RE black '59 car : I assume the roofline is different because it's a convertible.

SOMETHING seems awry with the bottom Cadillac!  Poor '59s, they seem to suffer more indignities than other Cadillacs.

Well it would seem they're on their way to a restoration shop of some kind or another judging by the protective coverings. No such precautions would've been taken if they were headed to the crusher.

So at least that's something.

They all look like refugees from a demolition derby.

Obviously, someone loves them because they dignified them with silver tarps instead of blue ones.
