I’m a new member. Just wanted to say hello. I bought my first Eldorado a few months ago and I look forward to the wealth of knowledge this forum seems to offer.

Here’s my ‘74. Haven’t done much since getting her. Carb job. New fluids. New bluetooth radio and speakers. She’s in for paint right now. Will need some interior work after that.

Howdy.  There's a couple of us with current '74 Eldo restoration threads going right now.  I'm in Granbury BTW.  I have "Janice's Eldo."

G Pennington

Yeah, but are you going to keep the longhorns?

Awesome. I’ll look for those threads. I’m currently searching for some body parts (fender and trunk lid) for mine, but they don’t seem easy to find.

And yes, I’ll definitely be keeping the horns.

I might suggest calling John Faust at "Honest John's Caddy Corner in Justin Texas.  If he doesn't have what you need I am sure he will steer you to them.

Wow! Thanks a ton for the recommendation. Just had a good talk with John. He sounds like a good guy. Turns out we went to the same college so we talked football, etc for a while. Best news is he has the parts I need for a good price. I’ll be headed up to grab the parts and a beer with him.

FWIW,
About 20 years ago when the Alamo Region was active, I as the then director had a photo journalist with a commission from a Japanese Men's Magazine contact me.  He was told by the magazine that cadillacs in Texas ALL had the accoutrements of the cowboy era such as long horns on the hood, pistols for door handles, etc. Apparently someone had seen the "one-off" conglomerations made for some of the Movie and rodeo stars of the sixty s and  seventies.
I told him that that was no longer a current fad, and after he did some verification himself, he agreed to do a shoot of our members and their cars.  It turns out the magazine featured Cadillacs in that issue and even had a little Cad sponsorship.
We were in Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, etc.) for a few weeks a couple of years ago and I personally did not se a singel Cadillac, although all the European dollar cars were there.
