I have an nos left hand window motor from an old Caddy dealer. Group number is faded, part number 22048338. The motor looks similat to the late 59 to mid 60s, but the gear is different, and the hole for the gear is deeper. Can you help me ID this please??
71 Olds 98 LS, 66 Fairlane 500 XL Convertible, 55 Packard Clipper Super, 58 Edsel Ranger, 72 Cheyenne Super, many 49-60 parts cars, abandoned "House Of Doom" full of 49-60 parts. Huge piles of engine parts, brackets, tin, Hydramatic & Jetaway parts,  thousands of stainless moldings, dozens of perfect sedan doors.

Looks like the ones in my 73 except for the tab down by the connector but seems like that may have been the difference between front and rears.  Its been a while since I messed with them, I have one laying under my desk at work so if this is not solved my monday i can look at the numbers on it.

Well looking at the 1974 master parts book I see window motors with numbers like 5045639 and 5045640 for motors used in ’57 â€" ’74 cars.

The 1965 master parts book list window motors with part numbers 490 5387 and 490 5388 for cars from ’54 â€" ’65.

I know those overlap in years with different numbers in the different books.  I can only think that the later book shows replacement part numbers for those older cars.

Your number has 8 digits while the books show 7 digit numbers.  I think that number comes from a later book.

From  a1976-81 parts book (1987 edition) the part number looks to be new number at this time. It is for right door windows. This part fits 1977-79 body types C & D .Also 1979 eldo with a series wound motor. There were permanent magnet motors used on some cars(late production?).Warren
