The interior window handles on 1940 LaSalle 52 convertibles had plastic inserts in the ends of the handles. I have seen these with a clear plastic over a metallic disk and I have seen these with a tan plastic similar in color to the steering wheel. I have been told that the clear plastic was used on 1941 Cadillac convertibles and the tan plastic was used on the 1940 LaSalle 52 convertibles. I would appreciate any info on this subject.

No 1941 Cadillac convertibles used inside window crank handles with a plastic insert. They were all chromed metal, with the knob having several concentric circles in the surface. The 41-61 and 62 series non-deluxe closed cars had handles with an ivory plastic insert.
I'm not familiar enough with the 1940 LaSalle to comment on its handles.

Not sure about 1940s and 1941s, but attached is a picture of my 1939 LaSalle Convertible door, which I feel  certain shows the correct handles for that car.  I am looking for a better set, but no luck so far.

Gene,

The knobs on the door window and vent window handles were clear plastic in 1942 on at least the convertible and, if memory serves, on some of the closed Fisher bodies, as well.  I'd have to dig through my data book for more detail, but I know for certain the convertibles used them in 1942.

This question has a lot of answers. Part# 4099789 fits 40 Lasalle 50 with Gray escutions. Part# 4099790 fits 40 Lasalle with tan. These are only used on those models. Now if you have a series 52 . They do interchange with some Cadillac models of 40 & 41. But you need to know body numbers ,because they changed them midyear on some body styles. I'll copy the parts book if you'd  like. Warren

I have a model 5267.  Please send or post any information from your parts book
