FYI:  Here is the link to pictures of the new CTS Coupe that was revealed today at the Detroit International Auto Show--remember, this is the Concept vehicle, but a good indicator of what the final car will resemble:

It looks like a great continuation of classy styling--a great effort by the Cadillac designers, in my opinion. I can't wait to see the production version! ;)

Rich,

The model is due out in '09, so the final tooling must be finished by now. I suspect that is very close to the final design with the exception of the lower front and rear valances, the tailight lens and, of course, the interior.
I hope someone at Cadillac will please break down and offer red leather as an interior option. I know the "young-ins" are in control and have only know gray, beige and black. Surely there is someone there with gray hair who recalls the dim past when interiors had real colors. :)

I definitely agree with you, Ralph. We've been back in the 1930's for the past 10-15 years on interior colors.  My neighbors still own the '92 SDV they bought from me; it's Cotillion White with red leather and I still think it looks great. Also, I'd like to see a return to an option of cloth upholstery (in a nice quality).  I've gotten used to leather and leatherette, but it's still hot in the summer and cold in the winter (before the seat heaters warm up..and even then the elements are usually just in the middle which leaves your legs up against cold bolsters). The car makers seem to be tentatively trying to re-introduce interior colors, but I thought the "ebony and brick" interior I saw on a new Malibu was not very attractive, more like Halloween black and orange to me.

You just can't beat a beautiful,RED -not burgandy--RED LEATHER interior--with RED carpet that doesn't resemble sprayed on flocking  !

Yes sharpe car, if it's due in 09 the 4dr must be going to look close to that also, kind of a pointy rear end, will be a cool convertible if they're still going o make 1 as I heard before. Actually I would think the 2dr CTS would be called CTC, not CTS Coupe, Doesn't CTS stand for Cadillac? Touring Sedan?

I agree also they should have more interior choices, though I personaly like black interior I also like cloth/velour. When I get my all black 1996 Fleetwood Brougham I'm getting the diamond pattern custom fit velour seat covers from JC Whitney, I saw them on a Crown Vic before and if you didn't know that wasn't a factory pattern you would have though the seats came from the factory like that, they looked and fit good.

I agree, a red interior would be great, and while they're at it, even White Leather/inserts with contrasting trim choices. I have heard that the STS V-Series models offer Red Leather seat inserts with the Ebony trim, although I have not seen it. The text about the Coupe at Autoblog says the interior features a special simulated suede material.

Checking other sites, it is reported that this Coupe goes into production in May '09, and it will be called the CTC.
