I have a '67 DeVille 429 in need of a new front timing cover. What other year(s) front covers will work on my application?
Thanks,
JB

I won't swear to it but I am pretty sure 64-66 will interchange.  I have a 64 one on a 65 engine in my 66 Deville. The only difference is the oil filter location but I made it work.  I was out in AZ last week for the winter board meeting, and visited several junkyards while there.  I noticed 90% of 429's are missing their timing covers!

The parts book lists  one gasket and seal set for 1963-67. BUT, it lists different parts numbers for each year (except 1965 series 75 fits the same numbers as all1964'S). Warren

You can use a 66 front cover on your 67.  The only difference is the oil filler tube.  If you are using the original glass bowl filter it may not be in the right location due to the higher intake manifold.  The 65 front cover has different oil pump gears (mainly the drive gear shaft is totally different).  If you were  to use a 65 distributor you would be okay.  The 64 has larger oil pump gears than a 63, and again the oil drive gear will not interchange.  Tim
