Can the front brakes on a 1968 Eldorado be converted to a single pistion set-up used on 69-78 Eldorado?  I currently have rotors, capipers and hoes on eBay for a 69-78 and I was asked the question if this will work on a 68.  I know the 68 is four pistons but if you have all these parts can it be converted?  My guess would be no but I thought you guys would know for sure.

Thanks

In order to change the ’68 Eldo to the single piston calipers you also have to change the steering knuckle and maybe the upper and lower ball joints.

Ted,

The details of a '66 Toronado Drum - to - Disc Conversion are presented here, much of the info would apply to the 68 Eldorado conversion - I have been considering the same for my 68 Eldo, but have not yet run across anyone who has actually documented a successfull conversion.  It's an interesting read.
