Help,

Has anyone here ever restored their 1961 Cadillac dash?
How did you paint the black box that says CADILLAC and not paint the word CADILLAC ? Or how did you clean it?

Thanks
Jack

Jack,Clean the peice to your satifaction and take some "clear-tape" and cut out,use a new razor-knife, they don't cost much, maybe .70 cents at Sherwin-Williams paint stores, the letters to the word Cadillac then paint it with a "rattle-can" of the same color.  HTH  Good Luck,JIM

 :D  Jack,
Fred Zwicker posted this link to how he painted the recessed letters on his LaSalle bumper ..... http://www.fzoldcars.com/Page_8.php
I would use the same technique of wrapping a cork in tee shirt material with a solvent on it (very little - trial and error here) and gently wipe the paint off the raised "Cadillac" letters.  Good luck.
