Can anyone tell me if chrome wire wheels were offered as an accessory for the 1941 Cadillac ? Please let me know .  Thanks

No, they were definitely NOT an option. Options were trim rings to accentuate the small hub caps, used from 1941-53. And then two types of "full" wheel covers, either to fit the regular 15" wheels for Series 61, 62, 63, 60S, and the 16" ones for Series 67/75.
You will see many cars with the 1953/54 type wires on 1941s, but they are not correct.

If you go that route, be sure to keep your original wheels and tires, which will be appreciated by the future owner if you later decide to sell the car. If you currently have the smaller hubcaps on your '41, you may want to consider going to the larger wheel covers for fancier looking wheels.  You can even add a small "beauty ring" on the wheel, covering most of the wheel with chrome.   I have two complete sets of wheels - one set for driving with radial tires and extra beauty rings (which help hold the wheel covers on) - see attached picture.  I also have a second set with bias tires and original LaSalle larger wheel covers for judging (not pictured).

While my setup is good for 1939 and 1940 Cadillac and LaSalle wheels (and possibly other years), I am not certain that a full wheel cover was offered in 1941. Check your options to find out and good luck!

I have the original Sombrero wheel covers for my 47 and may restore them someday.  I guess I am in a minority, but I really like the look of the smaller standard caps with trim rings.  One of the more senior members of our region also has suggested to me I am much less likely to throw one than with the Sombrero covers.  One of our members had that happen on his 47 convertible last year, and lost a fender skirt in the process.  Here's a picture on my 47.  Note the car is being repainted and the wheels will be body color this time.

I have the small hub caps currently and really like they way they look as well . We're the "red" colored wheels original as well ? I notice alot of 41's with red wheels .

Jimi,

The Vincenne red wheels were original.  On my 47 the options were red wheels, or body color.  Red didn't seem a good choice with maroon.  :-)

In '41, red wheels were used only on gray body paint jobs, and black cars. In 1942, they extended red wheels to several other colors. Best to check the color ncharts or the parts books.
