I started working on the 1960 Biarritz today.  The car was stored in a heated garage before I bought it, last driven in 1977.

The car is currently on the lift in my garage.  It's amazing.  100 percent original everything.  Every nut, bolt, screw, everything is original.  There is NO rust on anything, the exhaust was installed prior to parking the car, and still has the stickers on the pipes.

I think the former owner had the car inspected (PA State Inspection) prior to parking it.  I drained the gas tank, the gas did not smell stale at all, which is kind of peculiar.
The gas came out, clear, and not a speck of dirt, rust, anything.

I also pulled the wheels to look at the drums, linings, hardware, and wheel cylinders.  The brakes look new, and the rubber on the wheel cylinders are soft and flexible.  No sign of leakage, or decay at all.  The tires have no cracks anywhere, but I am sure they are not safe to use.  I am planning on replacing the brake hoses, even though they look fine on the outside.

The brake pedal is stuck in the 'up" position, so I assume the master cylinder is frozen.  It's a Moraine unit.

Here are my questions.

1.  Are the heater hoses pre-formed, or just regular hose.  I ask this because the bends coning out of the firewall look a bit sharp, like they might kink if you just use regular heater hose that is cut to fit.

2.  Upper and lower hoses, and all belts.  Commonly available, or am I in for trouble?

3.  Tri-power air cleaner element is no longer available.  Other than ebay, and other sources?

4.  I am planning on replacing the fuel pump and the flex hoses at the tank.  Fuel pump still available?

That's all for now, and I would appreciate any info out there.

Thanks,

Brian
