Help,

How do you take apart the ivory colored electrical “spade” connectors?  These are 1 3/8th inches long by 3/8th of an inch by approximately 3/8th of an inch.  Each connector contains a male and female spade, which may have a “barbed” hook on one or both. I am trying to pull a part the right front door circuits   â€"   power windows & vents, electric door locks, etc.

Thanks

Roger Zimmermann

Years ago I restored my Brougham # 230; I certainly disconnected all connectors but I don't remember that there was some difficulty. The connectors at that time were not as sophisticated as they are now.
I will have the "pleasure" to disconnect again most connectors this autumn or next year as I bought a new engine and doors wiring.
Good luck,

Roger,

Thanks for your response.  Where did you get the doors wiring?

I think I can splice in some new wire for my right front door.  But I suspect the left front needs a whole new harness.  Not a lot of room for it to past through the conduit between the door and body.

I got the harness from Ynz's Yesterday Parts, www.car-nection.com/yesteryear/ they are not cheap, but the work needed to complete a harness is worth the money spent!
You are right, with the harness for the seat memory, the space is not generous at the left door!

Hi

Here are a few more sources for Brougham harnesses.  I have not yet purchased any, but the web sites look like they should know what they are doing.  It will be painful in the wallet though.
