My friend asked me to help identify a Caddy or Olds front wheel drive engine & tranny. The block casting number is 1495200. Does anybody out there know what year this set is? Caddy or Olds? Thanks very much in advance.
71 Olds 98 LS, 66 Fairlane 500 XL Convertible, 55 Packard Clipper Super, 58 Edsel Ranger, 72 Cheyenne Super, many 49-60 parts cars, abandoned "House Of Doom" full of 49-60 parts. Huge piles of engine parts, brackets, tin, Hydramatic & Jetaway parts,  thousands of stainless moldings, dozens of perfect sedan doors.

Thats a 70-76 caddy 472 or 500.   Need to measure the stroke or look for casting number on the crank to know which.   Pistons can give clues but could have been changed over the years.  Head casting numbers can also narrow down they years.

It should be a 500 if it was in an eldo since 70-76 eldos came with 500's but a 472 would also fit if the oil pan was swapped.
