Here's something interesting for those wanting to have a 12 volt radio in a 6 volt car.  Know nothing about it, just ran across it looking for something else.

Geoff,
I have one of these in my '39 60S.  Use it for charging the cell phone and other very light duty 12 v tasks.  Members should be cautious though.  It only produces 5 amps.  So, it probably won't work for a 12 windshield wiper motor, or a big boom box (thank you!).
