we looked at a 50 caddy convertible the other day, needs restoration but looks to be a nice barn find. it has tri power, not sure if that was an option in 1950. whats the market on these cars? seller is asking between 10-15k, doesnt look to be any rust. could be a driver with a little tuneup. i tried to search it, but there arent many for sale. maybe thats the answer to my question

Tri-power was not an option in 1950.  That was only the second model year for the OHV engine and all of them had single two-barrel carburetors.

Jim Govoni CLC 20546

All 1953 331 V 8 engines had either a 4 barrel Rochester or Carter Carb. No 2 barrels,, no tri's. For a good value try http://www.manheimgold.com/index.html
1953 Series 62
1966 Fleetwood
1969 deVille Convert.
1941 Series 63

Could be an aftermarket tri-power setup which would be kind of neat.

I have a 1951 conv that is close to being done if your interested...frame off...complete drivetrain rebuild...disc on the front and ready (have) electric power for the windows...all glass except windshield...white diamond paint..most heavy chrome done...nice,very nice, just getting tired

Hi,
own a 1950 conv.for 15 years now. Bought it from an american dealer for 17,000 $.
It was a 3 minus car. For a nice driver you will pay between 40,000 and 70,000$ depending
on how close it is to perfect. Frame off restored cars will sell for 100,000$ and more.
On ebay a black conv. is offered for 125,000 buy it now price.
so if you can buy the car for 10 to 15,000 its a very good buy!
