I am restoring the defroster unit which mounts under the dash of my '41 Cadillac Sixty Special.  Can anyone assist me with a paint source and the correct tan color of this unit?  I'm guessing it matches the color on my emergency brake and/or steering column, but am not sure.

Many thanks-

It's a non-metallic brown. I'd liken it to the brake handle, more than the steering column. I believe that the steering column is a fine crystal metallic.

It's one of those things that you can come mighty close with, and if someone challenges you, make 'em prove it. Color chips have never been around for those things.

Hi Steve: Although the picture below is from my 47, the brown used in the 47 is close to the brown in my 41. I used paint from Ace Hardware called Chocolate Brown # 17012. The flash from the camera makes the color appear lighter
