Question about early fender lights

Hello,
I plan to add/use early '30's fender lights as turn signals. But, what were they realy used for when signal lignts had not been used at that time. Running lights or parking lights......what does that mean?

Ty, they was used as "parking-Lights", some towns had strange vehicle laws back in the early days, (some still do) I  think you will
find that the bulbs have "Single" contacts,whereas modern day bulbs have two contacts. Makes no diffence if you only gonna have "Turn-signials" only Good Luck,JIM

Ty, I would look into what members of the Classic Car Club have done with directional lites. They've come up with some pretty clever ideas. HTH, Bob
