It's being reported that Cadillac Motor Division is unveiling another exciting Concept Coupe Vehicle at the North American International Auto Show next week:

There will be an innovative powerplant, similar to the upcoming Chevy Volt electric vehicle, with reportedly outstanding Cadillac styling! This should be interesting. (Remember, the upcoming 2010 SRX was first shown with a hybrid power plant configuration.)  ;)

Go to the "Photo Gallery" for lots of pictures of this "green" vehicle:  the Cadillac Converj Coupe.

Well, I'll get psyched if and when it ever hits the showroom.

Anybody remember the Sixteen?  ...and the praise, hype and hope it brought?

But, it does "Cheapen" the Cadillac name.

But, Cadillac did that already with the Escalade.   A Chevrolet with a different badge.

Right from the caption on the MSN site:

GM's luxury brand shows three new vehicles: SRX, CTS Wagon and Converj Concept.

There had to be a press release from somewhere that called it a wagon.  I thought they were calling the SRX the "crossover".

If it doesn't have rollers and bier pins, it's a station wagon.

Interestingly, what's considered the "best selling luxury car in the U.S.A." by J.D. Powers is the Lexus RX330, a cross-over vehicle. At least now Cadillac offers a comparable alternative. The CTS Wagon is expected to be more popular in Europe, rather than a big seller in the U.S.

I'm glad to see there are two Coupes on the way, the CTS Coupe and the hybrid Converj Concept Coupe (and the latter will probably get an alpha-numeric name for production, just as the Provoq Concept foreshadowed the second-generation SRX). Now, Cadillac has designed the first nice looking hybrid Coupe--it will sell well, if priced carefully--how much will buyers pay for a hybrid luxury car? With these categories out of the way, hopefully Cadillac will return to development of their new flagship Sedan, too!

I was there Monday, and looked the "converj" over. Nice styling, but it appears to be exactely same rollerskate platform as the Volt. Wonder what kind of premium we will need to pony-up for the styling?
