I own a 1967 Calais four door sedan with the post between the front window and rear window ("K") . Cadillac describes this car as is its "four door sedan". The four door Calais that does not have the post is described as a the "four door hardtop sedan".

Kanter offers window glass weather stripping kits on its web site for both vehicles. Based on the information from the website, the kit for my vehicle costs about $300 plus dollars, and the price of the kit for the Calais without the post costs $500.00 dollars or so. The Kanter sales rep could not definitely tell which kit I should order and suggested that I look at the model number of my car and match that number the item number specified on their website. He stated that the model number is attached to the firewall on the passenger side of the car. I have not been able to locate the number.

I need to replace the weather stripping on this vehicle but do not want to order an expensive, incorrect kit. Is there another place/way to determine the model number my car?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,

John Baker

How about the body plate under the hood,/firewall?

John, order the post kit. In that era when a model said hardtop it meant no post. HTH, Bob

John,

The model number for your car AND the Cailais hardtop is 67-682 (same for both).  The style number for your car is 68269-K and the style number for the Calais hardtop is 68249-N.  When I worked at an auto parts store the computers went back as far as 1968.  Maybe the Kanter guy can look up your window seals using 1968 to see if that shows the difference.

You car is one of 2,865

Thanks everyone for all of the help. I feel confident about ordering the correct kit know. I enjoy driving the car, but would like to eliminate the 'whistles" as soon as possible.
