PHIL WHYTE CLC 14192

I don't know if anyone on this forum knew Ken Sizer, but he sadly died on Sunday. I don't know the exact cause of his death but he was receiving treatment for cancer , including lung cancer [eventhough he hadn't smoked for about twenty years]. Ken was nicknamed Cadillac Ken . He owned various prize winning Cadillacs , a 1949 convertible, a 1931 convertible ? [I'm going from memory here, I may be wrong] which won the Louis Vitton show here in England and was then shown at Pebble Beach. He owned two other Cadillacs which I believe may have been a 1912 and a 1971 convertible [again I could be wrong on the exact years]. I got to know Ken relatively recently through our common interests - old Cads ,old British motorcycles and dogs !. He had sold all his cars when I met him , but gave great support in the restoration of my 54 CDV. He was a good , loyal friend to both me and my wife Jo.
His funeral is Monday 2nd Feb 09 at New Southgate Crematorium, Brunswick Park Road , New Southgate N11 1JJ England.

I didn't know Ken, but please accept my condolences at the loss of your friend.  Any Cadillac collector is a friend of mine too.

Sincerely,

Stewart, I will do that, I should be speaking to his brother over the next week or so. His funeral was on Monday, considering the weather it was well atteneded.

Awwe, RIP eh Phil!

I'd never met Ken but obviously had seen his cars over the years. I'd spoken to him on the phone about Cadillac a couple of times!

Its a tough one! I'm a believer that we go to a better place so I'm confident that he is leathering off his Caddy at a huge concours as we speak...

Make hay while the sun shines is my mantra!
