Potomac Region CLC Celebrates 40th Anniversary

On Sunday March 29, the Potomac Region held a dinner party at the Springfield Golf & Country Club in Springfield, Virginia, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Region.  The Region was formed in 1969, and its first meeting was held at Ron Van Gelderen's house.

About 40 members and guests attended the anniversary dinner, including seven members who were either original founders of the Region or who joined shortly thereafter.  The seven original members in attendance were Juan Aranda, Glen Cole, Bryce Frey, Charlie Lightbown, Henry Ruby, Richard Sisson and Stephen Sisson.  Two of them still own the cars they drove to the Region's first meeting -- Juan Aranda's 1947 Fleetwood 60 Special and Bryce Frey's 1941 Series 62 convertible coupe.  Pat Cole, Glen's wife, was the only woman who attended both the first meeting of the Region and the 40th Anniversary party.

The Potomac Region is proud of this continuity, and feels privileged to have the ongoing support of its founding members in addition to the enthusiasm of its younger members.

Kudos.  This is an accomplishment for which your region should rightfully be proud.  It is quite an accomplishment.  It sounds like everyone had a good time.  Keep up the good work!  Where are the pictures?
