I am in the process of restoring a 1959 series 62 convertible. The current control switch to raise and lower the top is a togel switch that looks like it was put in sometime in the past. Does anyone know what the factory installed switch looked like. Any pictures specs or discription would be appreciated.

G'day Harry,
The switch you need is similar in looks to the single square faced chrome style window switch and door lock used for various models 57 thru 60. However the pins on the back are arranged vertically for convertible switches. I think 57 58 window switches used this configuration whereas the 59 60 window/door lock switches used a triangular pin configuration. You will understand if you look at the pins on the back.
Both styles look the same from the front so perhaps if you can only find a 59 60 window style try and get the female plug and a foot of extra wiring and connect it to the original  wiring plug/loom .
If you are still stuck, I have both styles out at present and could take a pic or two.
                 Regards. Quentin.

Hi Quentin,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I can visualize the switch the way you described it. I'll try to locate a window switch from a 57 or 58 or modify one from a 59 the way you suggested. Great advice!
Sincerely - Harry
