Okay - all my vacuum hoses were dried up - broken - missing - one had a wooden stake driven into the heart of a metal line going to the carb (I kept it as a trophy - where there is ignorance there is a means to overcome (ha ha)). :)

Thanks for any help plus a side question - is the air taken in by the vacuum pump in the engine - exhausted in the crankcase? ???

Thanks
Ron

The vacuum line leading to the vacuum pump and the vacuum line that runs under the intake into the fitting on the intake and the lines on the firewall.
