There have been a number of postings regarding parts availablility and interchange lately. I have found my Hollander manuals to be an invaluable source to expand my searches for parts. They are the best investment I ever made. I have found glass and window frames, starters, generators and other mechanical parts for my cars I would not have found if zeroed in on 1 year, 1 make or model. They are still at less than $50 plus shipping. They show up on ebay every now and then but most often it is cheaper to buy direct.

I have no connection to Hollander just want make members aware the resource is available. Here's the link.

I will second your thoughts.  On the acquistion of my first "old ride," I bought a set.  Got mine direct, as they were new and the price was more than reasonable.  Certainly one of my more valuable purchases!

I bought my first set (1954 to1966) shortly after a friend lent me his. I had just acquired my '57 and was looking for a windshield. My second Hollander  (1946 to 1956) was purchased when I was negotiating the purchase of a '49 Olds 98 convertible. After my experiences chasing parts for my '57 I wanted to know what my options were going to be for mechanical, sheetmetal and trim parts etc. for the '49. Many GM C body and suspension components were shared then so I went ahead and bought it.
