Hi everyone,

I am desperataly searching the vin number stamped on the chassis of a '49 cadillac. Can not find it.
Can you help? I thought it would be on the ront fright side chassis part (below the engine). Wrong?
Thanks!

LM, It's in two places, and possibly three. #1: On the engine, right side (pasenger side) just by the water pump connection on that side, on a flat boss just where the cylinder head meets the block. #2 On the TOP frame rail on that same side, look under the generator, towards the rear and look straight down. With both of these locations, there is likely plenty of crud built up on these surfaces. Clean them off. The numbers are there. #3 There should be a plastic plate on the driver's side door jamb with the VIN # on it. However, sometimes these plastic plates go broken and are missing. If the car has the original engine, all three numbers should match.
