Hello Jeff,
I apologize for not returning your phone call to me; my wife took the message and forgot to give it to me. I will attempt to make contact with you this weekend. Very sorry.
Regarding ZDDP and the proper oil for our vintage engines: the perfect oil is being produced and sold through the Indiana Region of the Classic Car Club of America. I recall it is about $42.00 for a 12 quart case. I now use it exclusivedly for my 40's and 50's Cadillac's. You can order by phone: 317-225-0040; the web site is:
www.classiccarmotoroil.com/ I personally have nothing to gain regarding these products; in fact, I don't even know any of its members, but this oil is the solution to protect camshaft lobes and flat lifters in flat head V-8's. It contains preservative to keep oil on the engine components even when the car is stored and not run frequently; it has high ZDDP levels to protect valve train components.
