Are the 1965 & 66 Cadillac A/C the same? I have a friend who has a 66 De Ville Convert and wants to put factory A/C in and has found a 65 Coupe Deville Parts car. Would this be a good fit or does he need to find a 66 parts car?
Thanks

I don't have personal experience doing it, but the components listed in the master parts book are the same for both years. Actually, the same components cover several years in most cases.

Mr.V,
Thge short version is that IF you want to end up lookling like an original factory 66, you should get the '66 donor car.  The majority of the listed parts are the same, but things like heater/evaporator/blower "boxes" may be dissimilar enough to cause greif, and the inside temperature sensor is in the forward edge of the dash pad, so a '66 dash and it's air ducts and outlets  may be just different enough to matter.
The parts lists shows two different transducers (65-66).
If you have the 65, and have the time, see if the major components match up to the holes in the firewall.  Let us know.

Hi Greg

The dash sensor was in the same place in '64 when Climate Control was introduced. The 65-66 sensors are the same and in the same position. Also the transducers are the same from 65-58. The only difference being the rear (series 75 ) units had a different mounting bracket. 64's climate system was first year and like Eldo had it's growning pains too. thanks, Jeff
