This is an interesting question I stole off of the Buick site. What car did you drive in your state's driver's test to obtain your first driver's license? In my case it was my parents' 1955 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan which I own today. The examiner liked the air-conditioning coming from vents being overhead during the hot summertime! I do not think it mattered how I drove as long as I was driving a 55 Cadillac even in 1964. Charles D. Barnette

1958 Chevy station wagon.  The best one to me though is one year later my 5'4" sister took and passed her test at the age of 16 in my father's 1959 Fleetwood!  I was impressed that she parallel parked that thing and did it well.  I am still impressed.  I told her she was just lucky, she, of course, stuck her tongue out at me.   ;D

Aah the ol' slant six.

My brother picked up a '69 Valiant that we called "the stunt car". It was practically indestructable we off- roaded that thing through farmers' fields and then abandoned it in somebody's barn.

Some people think it would be difficult to parallel-park such a big car.  But it's actually easy, because when you look back, you see the chrome ridges on the fins that indicate exactly where the back of the car is.

     Dear fellow caddy fans,
I took my drivers test in my own first  car, a 1967 Tempest Custom convertible equipped with a brand new set of Crager SS wheels, Panasonic 8 track tape player and custom lace paint on the tail panel between the tail lights. I also remembered to let the air out of the air shocks so the car would pass the pennsylvania visual inspection before the test. As I remember it, The testing officer, who was a state trooper did his best trying to fail the car before the actual test lest he let another young hot rodder on the road- Ha Ha.  I could have used my Dad's 67 Fleetwood Brougham for the test, but I had more practice in my own car.  Thanks for helping recall the memories- Chas

A 1963 Chevy Impala coupe.  Had a 283 V-8 and ran like blazes.  Unfortunately, here in the rust
belt (Pittsburgh) after 5 years the body was like swiss cheese.  I had more bondo in that car
than you could imagine.

I used my father's 1937 Hudson Terraplane.  The examiner had me drive around the block and told me that if I could drive that car, I had to pass!   I even parallel parked it for him.  Some of you younger guys should try this with a floor shift and bad clutch.
