Paul,
The 331 crank is different than the 365 crank. The 331 has a smaller main bearing diameter...2.49" as opposed to a 2.62" in a 365. The 331 and 365 share the same stroke (3 5/8")and rod bearing diameters (2.24"). If you are in a pinch for a 331 crank and have a 365 crank, a competent machine shop can cut the mains down to a 331 diameter.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,Pat

Judging by his avatar, he has a 365 engine and thus could not use the 331 crank.

Hi,
I don't know the answer to your question, but I have a 1956 365  good used original crank if you need one.
Let me know if I can help,
Michael

Paul, Just got home and looked at the book. As you have already been told, the 331 and 365 cranks are different. 49-54 are the same (except for the 53 Dynaflow cars), 55 is different for the one year only, and then 56-58 different again. Not what you wanted to hear, I'm sure.

Yes, I don't have any problem shipping to the U.K, done it lots of times. My only concern would be the cost, but what ever the post office quotes me is what I would charge. I can still ship surface mail, so that helps, but it's slow. I already have the crank out, so just let me know if I can help.

The post office sank the slow boat 2 years ago. Now everything MUST go Air Mail, cheapest choice Priority International. I shipped a head to Switzerland, cost $205. Then there was another cost increase recently. No more Parcel Post International, and UPS & Fedex want even more.
71 Olds 98 LS, 66 Fairlane 500 XL Convertible, 55 Packard Clipper Super, 58 Edsel Ranger, 72 Cheyenne Super, many 49-60 parts cars, abandoned "House Of Doom" full of 49-60 parts. Huge piles of engine parts, brackets, tin, Hydramatic & Jetaway parts,  thousands of stainless moldings, dozens of perfect sedan doors.

Hi John,
No, sorry, I'm in Canada. Apparently we still run the boats across the pond, they never took away our surface mail !! Them damn Canadians eh !

Your sometimes better off with the independent carriers. I had a complete rear axle sent here to England earlier this year, it was handled here by a small carrier who then got FedEx to bring it for less than the quote I had from them direct, took 3 days and came AIR Mail when I only paid surface, Go figure.
