Anyone know what dealers were in Austin, TX in 1954?  I just bought a 45,000 sedan and would like to have a correct trunk emblem or license frames for it.

Charles Maund (now a multi-line dealership chain) has sold Cadillacs for many years in Austin.  I would guess that they were in business in 1954, but you can call 512-458-1111 (still listed as Charles Maund Oldsmobile-Cadillac in a Google search result) to verify that.  The logo they have always put on the cars they sell is (in small chrome letters):

                                                                           Chales Maund
                                                                                Austin

Thanks.

Just checked and their site has no cadillac listed.  I found a Covert Cadillac in Austin

Charles Maund would have been the dealer in the 50's. The only one in Austin.

The Covert's took over just lately.

Just got the car home and teh paperwork says it was sold on 9/28/54 from Goad Motor Company, 317 Lexington-F, Austin, TX..  I guess it change dto Maund shortly thereafter, I also found a battery warranty from 1959 from Maund Motor Company in Austin.

Does anyone have a license fram or trunk dealer emblem from Goad Motor Company?
