I stumbled across this car on eBay, and challenged the seller.  He responded with the VIN, that confirms this is a 1955.  What gives?  See attached pics.

Here is the eBay link - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200392784851&viewitem=#ht_1595wt_929

Looks like a 1954 60 special, going by the upholstery panel on the doors, and by the missing skirt on the passengers side.

Yes it's clearly a '54 60 Special. Notice the 60S only chrome hash marks on the quarter panel just in front of the wheel opening. It's a 54 6019 not a 55 6219. Someone changed the data plate at some point in it's life thinking the average Joe wouldn't know the difference.

Probably stolen or salvaged a long time ago and put on to title it.

Ask him what the numbers on the door panel tag say.

Those body tag rivets definitely show signs of being messed with. :o

He's reading the VIN on the title, NOT the frame or motor. Just another Ebayer in denial. I always love those late production ideas! He'd better fix the issue now before it causes some buyer who needs to get the car verified lots of grief.  Lou, I think your frame scenerio is a little far fetched. LOL. Bob

Well, at least I generated a bit of discussion!

Youseguys confirmed my analysis, for which I thank you.  I do not pretend to be a Caddy expert, but it sure looked like a 54 to me.  If it looks and quacks like ....
