1956 Cadillac Elsorado Biarritz Convertible engine

Did all of the 56 Eldorado convertibles have the dual 4 BBL set-up or did some come out with a single 4 BBL?  If I understand correctly, the "Eldorado" engine is the dual 4 set-up and therefore should be on all Eldorados.  Do I have that right, or did I misunderstand?  Thanks for any info!

That is correct. All 56 Eldo's had dual quads.

The dual quads may well have been changed over to a single for reasons of economy and/or carb problems (one is easier to deal with than two).  If you are looking at a '56 Eldo with a single 4 it was probably changed out somewhere along the way.  Happened with the later tri-powers too.

Or someone pulled off the Dual Setup and installed a Single so the Dual Setup could be sold for a huge profit.
