Does anyone know a source or substitute (perhaps a straight section of a radiator hose) for the rubber (?) spacer that goes between the carburetor and the air cleaner on a '41?  The parts book shows it as part #1442306 in Group 12.1155, Hose, Connecting Intake Silencer.  I need at least the dimensions (I.D. & length), as I will destroy mine taking it off the carb and I would like to have a replacement before I do that.  It is a Cadillac part; not a Stromberg part.

Hi Bob: The hose is a Gates # 24242 hose with an approximate ID of 2 17/32 and an OD of 2 29/32, length of 1& 5/8 inches. I think I bought mine from Charlie Babcock in Florida. It makes a good fit. Please email me direct for Babcock`s number. Try Coopers in CA , they might have them

Rock Auto (rockauto.com) has Gates #24242 in stock.  They identify it as 2-5/8" ID.  However, they require you buy a minimum of 3 feet (I think their pricing is in error - suggest you call or email them).  Or you might try your local NAPA store (part # NBH 640).

Thanks!  For future reference, the fastest and most reasonable source for this part is Carquest - $1.47/inch.

Opps!  Made a typo.  The price is $2.47/inch.  Sorry about that.  I think 2" is a better length, rather than 1 5/8".
