Hi, Does anyone know what the correct battery is for a 1939 LaSalle.

That will be mounted under the driver's legs, if it's the same as a '40 LaSalle I once had.

If it's a vital matter to you to have a Delco branded battery, Otto's advice above is good. I buy my batteries from Tractor Supply Co., and you should be able to get that battery there for around 70 bucks. I just bought one for my '41 Chevrolet there, and it ws about 65 bucks.

If you're going to have the car for a long time, you might even want to look onto an Optima battery, for longer longevity and high cranking power.  Nobody's gonna be looking under the front seat or floor pan!

I am with Doug. On my 37 LaSalle got tired of taking the seat out to check the water level in the battery. So now the 6 volt Optima (they make one run a year for 6 volt batteries) is resting there and will not be uncovered till it goes dead. I expect it to last for at least 6 to 7 years.
