Brett,
You have done a ton of work on this car.
Generally I like the factory look..having said that the chrome doesn't bother me but I must say that Ford? blue must die.
However,it is your car and your blood, sweat and cash
Have fun with it!
Cheers,Pat

That might actually be the correct blue. Cadillac blue does weird things in photographs - especially when a flash is used. Notice the valley pan looks a lot darker and more like Cadillac blue. Perhaps because it is shielded from the flash.

That is not FORD blue, but a factory GM blue color.  I must say though, Gm has many different colors for their blue and this is not the dark Cadillac blue color you might have been expecting.  The color was readily available to me so I went with it instead of ordering from Bill Hirsch etc. Their paint entailed my stripping the old stuff off as to not have a chemical reaction to the existing coating and to not having to much paint thickness causing crinkling of the finish.  Since I did not put the money into a rebuild yet, I chose to just paint it with a GM color. As far as the chrome, ya it's not factory but a little bling under the hood isn't always a bad thing. The exterior of the car will be kept stock and original.

Brett,
I get it now.
Please consider my criticism a minor nitpick in a overall great resto.

Hey guys, looking through old pics and discover this one........shows that the intake and valve cover were dark blue but the block is a different color blue.  I believe the engine is original with only 62K miles. did caddy use several colors on the engine? Maybe the motor was pulled and just the block painted?

The dark blue Valve cover and intake are the correct colors. The light blue is not correct and was not used by Cadillac. Someone painted the engine at some time.
