This is a drawing I made for my '55. Check the bottom portion of the page. You may have to enlarge.

Thanks for the drawing I have it hooked up. ;D How much of a turn does it take to turn the wipers on and off mine seems to be hard to turn wonder if there is a problem with the switch or cable ?

Bob, you may have to adjust the cable at the wiper motor. You may not be getting full range. With the wipers on,see if you can move the slider at all , at the motor.

While preparing many of these switches/cables for sale I had to loosen them up. First I hit the cable with good penetrant, then coil it up and soak in a coffee can a day or 2 submerged in light oil, like 10 weight. Or even 30 weight. Then turn back & forth until loose as a goose.

Does anyone know if Cadillac used the same Trico vacuum wiper motor for 55 and 56?

Thanks,

Dave,

The 1956 MPL shows the 54-55 using the Trico CPH-10-20, and for the 56 a Trico 72001-4. So it seems Trico had a new design starting with the 1956 models.

Thanks John:
Soaked the cable and switch in fluid film (that stuff is great) the switch and cable are as loose as an old goose. ;D Now its on to the washers.
