39 LaSalle coupe

Im looking about buying a 39 LaSalle opera coupe
needs total resto, but mostly rust free az car..
no motor or trans, but dont want to spend too much
on it.
Supposedly only about 1732 where built , the vin on this
one was suppose to be the last one made.

Heck, if the care is a true Arizona car, you should have a lot to start with. I'd expect to see a pretty solid body and sheet metal. Even if the interior is shot, you would have patterns to use for re-doing it.   In my mind, it's a gorgeous car.

As far as engine and transmission goes, there are engines to be had, as well as transmissions. It'ain't like looking for a Duesenberg engine!!

Before I ever got my first vintage car, I wanted either a '39 or '40 Cadillac or LaSalle coupe. It developed that there were several possibilities to mfulfill that desire. I finally DID (do) have a '39 Cadillac coupe, but it's a '39-90 5 pass coupe.

If this car you tell of is as solid as one might expect, and if the price is bearable, I'd go for it. i

That is why a lot of cars end up at the tip.

The owner believes it is worth a fortune, then when the Estate passes to the relatives, they just want to get rid of the "worthless piece of junk" (in their eyes) and it either goes for a song, or scrapped, just to get it out of the way.
