I have seen numerous posts about this subject.
Most of them refer to Bill Hirsch, Eastwood etc.
I live in Europe which means no easy way to order from these sources (no airtransport allowed)
Therefore I'd will have to have the paint mixed here.
Does anyone know the Pantone color code (or any other paint systemcolor code)
for the dark Cadillac engine paint color?
Thanks,
kurt

Can't UPS ship spray cans or even a quart to Europe? They ship them here in The USA.

It's a little complicated - need to go as "Dangerous Goods" - more  hazzle and cost.
Would be a lot easier with the color code for mixing right here in Europe.
I have an idea that the color is very close to Pantone 2965PC - comments?
Thanks, Kurt

Kurt:

You don't say where you live in Europe, but there are many active Affiliate Clubs there.
Is there nobody close to you that you could help you get a color match?  That same blue was
used from about 1949 all the way into the 70's.

Failing that, maybe you could get a color chip from Hirsch (if he'll send you one) so that
it can be spectroed and matched in Europe.  Sorry, I'm not familiar with Pantone and I'm
not aware of any published "formula" for that color.

South Paw - exactly what I was looking for - big thanks.

Pantone are color definitions used in the printing/advertising industry.

And I live in France, by the way.

Thanks again to you all.

Paint isn't even allowed in shipping containers as I recently learned trying to get paint to Thomas in denmark.

Contacted BASF in Denmark (where my car is) and was referred to a company which has the R-M agency.
They will mix the paint and send it to me.
Thanks again to South Paw for pointing me in the right direction.

And maybe somebody could get the paint codes (and post them somewhere as reference)
for Cadillac engine paints pre and post the dark blue?
Maybe even publish them in the relevant Authenticity Manuals?
