April  1st this isn't an April  fools joke! I think each time I see the fuel  gauge  go - up fast i can't help but to think something wrong.

p.s.I still have the 6V dc+pos.GND.sys. in my '38 5027 coupe. BTW,my kill-switch is  "in" the  Gnd circuit. Still only two batts since 1988,
i've  only   added water two times. No corrosion  problems .  jim

Most likely your gage drifts down while the battery is disconnected.  Then when you turn the ignition on it returns to the correct reading. 

Either that or someone is adding gas to your tank while it sits.
