I recently bought a 1960 Cadillac from a US Marshall's auction of the possessions of an alleged Ponzi scheme ringleader.  Great pedigree huh?   Needless to say the owners in jail and the Marshalls don't know anything about the car.  Can any one help?  The trim tag shows

I think the Paint 10   is Ebony Black
I think the Acc.   E   is Ez Eye Glass          what is that?
I think the Acc.   H   is heater
I think the Acc.   Y    is 6 way seat

I don't know what the Trim 40 is?
I don't know what the Acc.   K  is?
I don't know what the Style  60-6337 is?
I don't know what the Body FW11836 is?

Thanks in advance.

Congratulations on your purchase.

Eze-eye Glass is Factory Tinted Glass.

The car is a Coupe deVille with (K) Air Conditioning.

(H) is Heater, and (Y) is for 6 way Front Seat.

Trim 40 will be either (Cloth) Silver-Black Cambray, or (Florentine Leather) White.

FW is the Fleetwood Body Factory, and 11836 is the Body Number

You got a great car hopefully at a 'steal' of a price.    :D

If you don't know much about 1960 Cadillacs follow this link to scans of original Owner's Manual, Sales Brochure, etc:

There were quite a few visual & mechanical differences between 1959 and 1960 but they still shared a lot of common tech, follow this link for additional info:

Enjoy life - it has an expiration date.

Thanks for all your help.  Does the FW mean that it is a Fleetwood rather than a coupe deVille?  The title from the US Marshals says it is a coupe deVille.  The Vin is 60J080XXX and I thought the J meant it was a coupe deVille.

Yes, the "J" identifies your car as a Coupe deVille. One of 21,585 produced in 1960.    -Jim

There is a 03E stamped above the Style on the tag.  Am I correct that it means the coupe deVille was completed on March 5, 1960?   Thanks for all your help so far, I am sure that I will need lots more help.

03E denotes the 5th or last week of march.
The week codes, first thru fifth are listed as A/B/C/D/E

Ignore the FW. It doesn't have anything to do with the model of your Cadillac.

It was my understanding that the FW denotes it was built in the Fleetwood plant.  Even “Fisher” bodies were built in the Fleetwood plant.

Someone will correct me if I’m wrong.   :D

It is my understanding that "FW" and in later years "FWD" indicate the Fleetwood assembly plant.    -Jim
