Any suggestions on who does a decent job rebuilding power window motors. Mine are from a '55. They currently work but one is sluggish. An alternative, has anyone bought newer GM motors from those street rod guys and bolt them to the original regulators. I see kist for 55-57 Chevies and these should be the same I would imagine.

I’m not that familiar with the ’55 window motors, but it has been my experience that most motors like this need to be re-greased when they become sluggish.  Just take them apart and clean all the old grease out and put fresh grease in.  I use the common chassis grease.  The motors work like new again.

Don’t forget to lube the window mechanism too while you are in there.
