Hello folks,

Does anyone know what the following part is and where it goes?  I believe it is a drive shaft part, but I am unsure.  It came in a box with other parts, when I bought my 59 Cadillac.

Thanks,
Thank you for your time,

Definitely not an original Cadillac part, the twisted up piece of wire that is, nor the hole drilled into the shim, but it could be a person's attempt at shimming the centre bearing to eliminate driveshaft vibrations.

It is impossible to reach down the tunnel to install one when the driveshaft is in place.

When I shimmed mine, I made up a shim, and drilled a hole in each end and inserted a piece of welding wire to be able to align it.

looks like a brake hose retaining clip to me, dont know what the wire is for though.
Aussie Bruce is right, its not a driveshaft part.
