Still driving her Cadillac!
« on: May 26, 2010, 01:40:12 PM »
Here's an interesting story about a woman and her 1979 Coupe de Ville in its original two-toned Saxony Red and Cotillion White combination:

Obviously, people do get more out of life when they drive a Cadillac!  ;)

One of our members (she joined the CLC in 1959 at the urging of her cousin Ansel Sackett) will be celebrating her 100th birthday next month.

And yes, she still drives her Cadillacs.

In fact, the Cadillac & LaSalle Club of Australia created a special award in her name.

Ha, ha.......... I've never met the woman, but my Mother works at a special needs school in Coatesville, PA and has met her. My Mom first told me about this local old woman who drove a Cadillac a few years ago.

Margaret Dunning's 1966 Cadillac Sedan DeVille was parked next to my 1967 Cadillac Sedan DeVille at the the CCCA Grand Experience at Hickory Corners in 2007.  I enjoyed talking to her for a bit.

I hope and pray that I'll be able to drive my Cadillacs until my days on this earth are over. What a blessing to have both mental and physical health at her age. We have a customer and friend of our business that still drives a 1965 Cadillac Coupe deVille Convertible as her only car. She is a lovely lady in her late eighties and she purchased the Cadillac new. Her husband has tried to get her into another car, but she refuses. I guess if she makes it to 103, she'll be styling around town in her Cadillac Convertible. I guess something can be said for driving in Cadillac Style.

Of course it doesn't hurt that the lady is driving a 1979! Cadillac. Treat them right, and they will go as long as you need them to. Notice also, the "slick" top which I think looks better than a vinyl half top on the '77-'79 cars. And the two tone paint helps too. Lengthens the CDV where the half tops make them look stubby. Only grouping of years where the sedans are sexier than the coupes. IHO. "You go girl!"
