My restorer is trying to replace the " transmission output seal " and the " rear differential pinion seal " . He has ordered these parts from two different vendors ( he didn't tell me who they were ) , but none have fit properly . Any suggestions as to where he might get the correct seals ? Thanks , Paul Tesone CLC # 6876

I always go to a Bearing Shop and get the correct fitting parts from them.

I go to the yellow pages and find a bearing seal supply company too. I couldn't find a differential pinion seal 3/4" thick recently. I bought two 3/8" seals and put those in. Neoprene with the usual spring inside. $5.15 each plus postage. Take your measurements and call a seal house and when they find what you want, have them email the catalog pictures of it so you can check to see you are both on the same page. Mine work fine and the next time, in a decade or two that they need changing they will come out easier than the 3/4" kind do.

The supply houses practically give things like that away compared to retail outlets. I don't blame the marque specialists for making a living and providing a service but sometimes a local supply house can still serve us well and faster.

Forgot to mention, that was for my 37-60 coupe. The same thing you are looking for for a seal.  JS

I agree with Jim, I did the same for my 37 60, two seals with the same ID and OD but only half the thickness from a bearing and seal supply shop. total £15.
