Were red wheels an option on all Caddy's in the 40's or were they just for specific models? I like that look and have seen them on convertibles a lot and even on model 62's.

Jim:

Red wheels, in the '40 through the '47 models were either standard on the various shades of gray and some blue cars, and optional on black cars. In '48 and '49 red wheels were available with every color combination except the '49 combination 21, Chartreuse.

This may lead one to believe that the red wheels were very popular on the '40-'47 models possibly as a dealer painted item.

Thanks Terry. I have seen the red wheels on a variety of colors and wondered what was factory and what was not. I have seen them on yellow and green Caddy's also. I have to admit, I like the look.
