Wondering, since the online resources I have looked at do not call out the 86 CC colors if there is a way to determine the colors for my interior dash and steering column? The color is a lighter grey that matches the dash very well and I want to be sure to get these colors correct. I wonder if they are interchangeable with the 75 series?
thanks Brett

Brett,

All of the 54-56 Commercial car I have seen have had a grey dash and steering wheel that matched Fleetwood 75s.  This is true even on colored interior cars.  My 56 Beau Monde had a turquoise and silver interior with the grey dash and trim

Hey Jim thanks for the response....chip chart shows 3 grey's....Alabaster, Ascot and a silver poly....what is the best way to determine which is which? Body tag doesn't show so just eyeball a swatch up to the parts? Also, what type of paint should I use? Enamel, urethane, etc?

Is there any good paint left on your dash? The paint shop should have a little spectrometer that they can scan the color with for a near perfect match.

dash is sandblasted and primed but the steering column is original....guess I could take that in.

Yes. Some places can even come out to the parking lot to do it in the car. Obviously yours is all taken apart so carrying in the column would be no problem. Is the underside still pretty clean and shiny?

well, I haven't cleaned and buffed it yet but I think that it will provide a good example when I do. Anyone know what kind of original paint was used? Enamel, Lacquer, ????? what is comparable to use now?
