as I put this 36 series 60 back together, I found one window regulator spring cracked - still intact, but cracked - anyone have a source for a new replacement spring - or can you confirm that it's the same as Chevy truck, or maybe offer a GM part number - the master chassis parts book I have doesn't include the body, and neither does my Hollander's.

Thats for the door handle Geoff, William requires I think the spring in the window wind up regulator, much larger, but the same in most GM cars I suspect.

I've found a few sources, but none of them show cadillac (chevy truck is common) and so far none has replied to my email asking for dimensions -  the spring from my car is .28 inches wide, 2.050 in diameter,  the flat tab in the center is .335 inches

this part C-48105-GRH at aaaparts.com http://www.aaaparts.cwmax.com/chevydor.htm  might be the right thing - they also show "dovtails" and door ferrules and stuff that are probably the same.

I wonder if businesses have any idea that they loose business when they ignore emails?

These are identified as window regulator springs and are said to fit '34 thru '37 Cadillac.  Price sounds reasonable.

Those springs on ebay are door springs, not window springs - I asked the vendor, they said "the bag says window springs but we don't know for sure" - they do not look anything like the window regulator spring - but the price is fair if you need them (though new ones are cheap too)

I have sent an inquiry to the place in oregon, their item GR-218  appears to be the same, though I don't know what the second part shown is for

by the way, does anyone know why "reply with quote" doesn't quote the item to which I am replying?  does it work for anyone?

Just checked my parts shed William and I have several of these springs in all different sizes, some are much thicker and stronger others thinner. Fleetwood bodied cars tend to be thinner than the Fisher ones for some reason.  If your up against a brick wall I will gladly send you one but if someone in your country cant help I would be surprised.

Thanks for the kind offer - I will order one from the place in Oregon - of several vendors I've contacted, they are the only one to respond to email, so I should give them my business, right?

and thanks for the information on reply with quote - that helps a lot.

Received spring GR-218 from "The Filling Station" (www.fillingstation.com), cost $14.50, it is the proper spring for my 36 series 60 - he shows it as fitting 37-39 Chevy.  If you have one of these cars, you may wish to make a note for future reference.
