Now you have me wondering who is on his Lapel ... Looks like a Blonde or a women with gray hair .  That rules out Patsy Cline .

When I saw the picture on this site my first impression was that it was Elvis' dad Vernon Presley on the lapel pin. Charles

Looks a little like Patti Page to me.  But why would Elvis be wearing a Patti Page button?

Patsy Cline had darker hair. If it’s a fan button, - “I wanna hook up message”-  my guess would Be Kim Novak……just drop dead gorgeous.

Elvis was dating Anita Wood in 1957...sorta resembles that picture.  I can't imagine him wearing a lapel pin picture of her...but he danced to his own beat though!

It is Patti Page. We found a button on ebay that proves it. Carla will post the proof shortly. Charles D. Barnette

;D ;D ;D  When I'm good, I'm good!  Wait until I tell my wife I was right, she'll say it is a first!
Now it would be interesting to know why he is wearing a Patti Page button.

It does indeed look like it is from the same publicity photo. The black shadow area on her neck looks the same. Have you verified when that album was published?

Looks like it is her!  I know Elvis was a big fan of Patti Page  mostly because his mom Gladys was a fan. He met her in 1956 in Las Vegas when he took his mom to see wone of her shows.  Just trivia, Patti's husband worked, Charles O'Curran worked as choreographer on several of Elvis later movies, and Patti even had a cameo as an extra in Blue Hawaii.  So quite a few Patti Page and Elvis connections.  I wonder if he gave her that pin when they met in Vegas?

Which car are you talking about? There aren't any pictures of a '56 Cadillac posted.

Geoff ,
Great detective work on the pin .  I think i was pretty cool that Elvis thought so much of her that he would wear a Pin Like That .  Patty Page is about 82 and living somewhere in Oklahoma  I think . I bet she would get a kick out of seeing that picture .   Now if we could only find a way to send it to her .

It is obvious from the results of this thread the Elvis and Cadillacs go together .   The side view  mirror was interesting , but the paying attention to detail from Otto Skorzeny  By spotting that Pin, set the thread Alive . It sure is  a lot of fun .  Sometimes when i am driving my 57  Cadillac , i think of Elvis  and what it must of been like back then .

Patty Page is , in fact, still alive and singing.  Last month she did a show in her hometown of Claremore, OK.  She lives in Vermont where she and her husband make and sell maple syrup.  I had the pleasure of driving her a few years ago and of course we talked cars!  She told me that in the 50's when she was hostess of the Patty Page Oldsmobile Show, she had a new Ninety Eight convertible every year and never learned to drive!
