My 1937 60 series has this strange fast banging noise at times. I think it is the spring loaded hood prop that is banging on the hood. This is driving me nuts. any good ideas to stop this noise. Thanks, Steve

You should have a rubber roller on the arm that the hood side sits on Steve, this rolls down the hood when its closing and then only rubber touches the underside of the hood. Is your missing? both of mine were and I had to replace them with a piece of small hose.

Hi Steve,i have a 37 60 series car too,i looked at mine and the spring seems to keep plenty of pressure on it to keep it tight?,maybe the spring is wore out and cant keep it up tight?,you could also glue a small peice of foam or rubber to the arm where it contacts the hood when it is down, this would cushion the "blow",might help.my car has plenty of other noises and i cant tell where they all originate from,i cant drive the car wearing my hearing aide, drives me nuts,i figure if it gets loud enough to hear then,it must be serious ;D HTH Harvey b
