I should have mentioned that I believe it is from the years 29 to 32

  From the 9th edition of Hollander(1939). It doesn't fit Cadillac.They use models 382,728D,457 & 495 during this period.
model #497 fits                                                                                                         Pierce Arrow 1932 model 54
                  1933-35  8 cyl
                  1935  v12 models 1245,1255
Stude      1932 -33 President models 91,92
It can also be used in place of # 498 Pierce 32-34 v12,35 models 1240,1248A,
.and in place of DY 1242 which fits Pierce 1934 v12.
  I would double check the number if you know it came from a Cadillac. Warren
